It has been several decades since we last saw a Jeep-branded pickup truck. Ever since the Comanche left the industry in the early 90's, Jeep fans have been patiently waiting for a replacement. Well, that day is finally here, and the wait has been well worth it; as the all-new Jeep Gladiator boldly enters the world of mid-size trucks, with sights set on segment domination.

Configuration and Powertrain

Every Jeep Gladiator comes with a five-foot truck bed, four doors, and spacious seating for five occupants. The only convertible truck on the market, Gladiator features a zipperless Sunrider® soft top with easy one-handed operation. Or, Bedford shoppers can opt for the lightweight Freedom Top® hardtop. Additionally, all four doors can be removed, and the windshield folded down for a true open-air experience.

Under the hood, Gladiator is powered by an energetic 3.6-liter V-6 that sends 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque to all four-wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. An eight-speed automatic transmission is also available. Equipped with a standard Class II bumper hitch, Gladiator can tow up to 4,500 pounds. Or, opt for the available Max Tow package, for a best-in-class tow rating of 7,650 pounds.

Off-Road Capability

With a foundation in the legendary Wrangler 4x4, Jeep Gladiator boasts trail-ready tenacity beyond anything class-competitors can come up with. Standard equipment includes Dana 44 axles, skid plates, and even tow hooks for helping unfortunate trail-goers in less capable vehicles. Ten-inches of ground clearance (11 inches on Rubicon) allows Gladiator to pass over trail obstacles without a second thought; and, with a high-mounted air intake and special sealing, it can take on water crossings up to 30-inches deep.

For ultimate capability on your off-road excursions, Gladiator Rubicon is fully geared-up with essential equipment like:

  • Tru-Lok® electronic locking front and rear differentials
  • Rock-Trac® 4:1 transfer case
  • Segment-Exclusive Front Sway Bar Disconnect
  • Wheel-to-wheel steel rock rails
  • FOX brand aluminum-bodied 2-inch-diameter shocks
  • 33-inch all-terrain tires

Trim Levels

Features for the Jeep Gladiator are organized across four trim levels:

  • Sport
  • Sport S
  • Overland
  • Rubicon
